The US Maritime Administration just revised its vessel and shipyard financing regulations. Here's what it means for maritime operators in the country.
1️⃣ MARAD — Vessel and Shipyard Financing Revision
The agency issued a new interim rule to update all of its vessel and shipyard financing programs.
This big regulatory change hits vessel owners, shipyard operators, and all small firms seeking new loan help.
All of the impacted groups must now review these new rules to align their future project plans with the updated criteria.
2️⃣ FAA — Airworthiness Directives; Lycoming Engines
The US FAA published a safety rule to set up new airworthiness directives for Lycoming reciprocating engines.
This flight safety directive hits aircraft owners, commercial operators, and all of the maintenance organizations currently using these engines.
Operators must now perform new technical inspections and complete key repairs to stay compliant with the law.
3️⃣ EPA — Pesticide Tolerance Exemption
The US EPA issued a final rule to exempt some mixed palmitates and stearates from tolerance limits.
This food safety change hits chemical firms, pesticide formulators, and agricultural crop protection compliance officers.
Producers can now use these inert ingredients in pesticide formulations without seeking any new individual residue tolerance under the rules.
4️⃣ State Dept — ITAR Category XI(b) Extension
The US Department of State issued a final rule extending the temporary modification of Category XI(b) on the Munitions List.
This critical trade control hits defense contractors, military electronics manufacturers, and international exporters of communications gear.
Exporters must maintain all existing licensing protocols and safety check rules during the entirety of this new extended period.
5️⃣ Receita Federal — Operation Shadow Game Presser
The Brazilian agency held a joint press conference to show its new enforcement work in Operation Shadow Game.
This financial crime crackdown hits all illegal gambling syndicates, payment processors, and domestic money laundering groups.
Local financial firms must now update their internal systems to find and report suspicious transactions linked to this illegal network.
